BRIAN PETTIPAS, PORTFOLIO CFO & DIRECTOR

 

As Portfolio CFO & Director at Founders, Brian focuses on transforming the capability of the Finance function at portfolio companies. In his role, Brian coaches and mentors Founders' portfolio companies' CFO's. He creates high-functioning, autonomous departments at portfolio companies that meet Founders’ requirements for organizational structure, control disciplines and reporting accuracy, timeliness and completeness. Brian also participates in diligence processes.

 

Founders is a family firm that combines 30 years’ private equity experience in over 80 companies with deep operating knowledge. The firm invests its partners’ own capital and focuses on applying operating know-how in medium-sized food businesses, with a view to building thriving organizations over the long term.

 

Prior to joining Founders, Brian has a long career in Finance within operating companies over the last 25 years. He was most recently CFO of CBV Collection Services Ltd., a leading Canadian accounts receivable management company, owned by Yellow Point Equity Partners, and sold in 2015 to Eli Global. Previously, Brian was CFO of GCT Global Container Terminals Inc., a leading marine terminal operator managing four container terminals at the Port of Vancouver and the Port of New York and New Jersey. Earlier in his career, Brian was a Partner at Grant Thornton, remains a Chartered Business Valuator, winning the George Ovens Award for first place in the national entrance exam in 1998, as well as a Chartered Professional Accountant. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, graduating with distinction in 1990.
